Before we go hog wild and start overclocking, let’s check for any BIOS updates which in my case there was. ASUS makes BIOS updating easy. This particular BIOS has a built in network stack meaning it’s able to download and install the latest BIOS automatically. If this method isn’t available, you can download it to a USB drive and import manually.
The cabin also looks a bit austere, with black plastic adorning the dash, doors and centre console. A bit of colour (or some dashboard trim) wouldn’t go astray. Then again, the Ioniq isn’t intended as Hyundai’s style-led electric car – that would be the Kona EV, arriving next year.
When you power on your system for the first time, BIOS will complain about a CPU change and you’ll need to press F2 (normally DEL) to enter BIOS. The first thing you’ll probably want to do is check to make sure that BIOS has properly detected all your components such as RAM and SSD/HDDs.
There are two main systems: A smart lighting system without a hub, like LIFX’s Color or TP-Link’s Smart Bulb, which connects directly to Wi-Fi. Or a system with a hub, like Philips Hue.
Samtec unveils the MEC5, what it is calling the industry’s first 0.5-mm pitch edge card socket with justification beam. Reportedly, this design meets the demands for decreased size and increased speeds, while also optimizing cost. The socket’s justification beam is designed to shift the card into proper alignment with the contacts. This allows for standard board tolerance on cards that would typically not work with ultra-fine pitch connectors. This optimizes manufacturing costs with a 30-50% PCB cost savings and a high yield for standard cards.
•Use a non-conducting fiberglass or wooden ladder when working with strings of lights. Also, stay clear of all overhead wires.
Let’s first start by installing the CPU. This will be much easier to do outside the case and will allow us to work without any distractions. For first timers installing a TR4 CPU, I highly recommend watching this video from HardOCP and taking your time.
Forced Physics claims its passive JouleForce Conductor tube can dissipate 1 kW of thermal energy, using ambient air temperatures found anywhere on Earth. That would be more than enough to cool a modern dual-socket Xeon server loaded with memory. It should be enough to cool a power-efficient single-socket AMD Epyc or Marvell Arm server with a bunch of memory plus two 350 watt GPU or FPGA compute accelerators.
To figure out exactly how many amps your DC-powered item uses, look for the wattage and volts it uses, which is usually stamped or printed on the product. Divide the watts by the volts, and you have the amps.
Bedroom: Questionable. Why not just plug it in there in the first place? You’ve clearly already made the decision not to do that, so I’m not sure how often you’d temporarily want music or a talking speaker. Unless Mission Cables is implying that you’ll use the Echo for, ya know, mood music. In which case, let me go ahead and state unequivocally, you should not be installing a battery stand on an Amazon Echo before heading into the bedroom if you care about your partner’s view of you and ability to stay in the mood.
I even left my headlights on overnight to give me a chance to try to jump-start my own vehicle. So I had multiple chances to test the jump starter.
‘However, while Christmas tree lights add festive sparkle, they can also be dangerous if a few very simple checks are overlooked.
