Of course, if you’re stranded somewhere, you probably won’t have the ability to clean the terminals without having someone bring you baking soda and water with a stiff brush, so, at that point, you might as well try to jump your car from your friend’s vehicle who brought you the baking soda. (Or, better yet, keep these items in your emergency car kit.)

Garden: Not sure about this one. Gardens are typically decorative spaces that you visit for brief periods of time. You’re there to move some dirt around and get on with your life. You’re probably getting up and down a bunch. You don’t want to be moving a speaker every few minutes as you go along. You don’t want to get dirt in the Echo’s zillion holes either. Verdict: plausible but eh.

Christmas lights can also be a safety hazard, according to the Eazysafe website. The website stated about indoor lights: to only buy Christmas lights marked with a safety standard, make sure a competent person checks all connections and examines the wiring for fraying, don’t overload sockets and unplug all Christmas lights and electrical appliances before leaving your home or going to bed.

Televisions these days seem incomplete without a Chromecast. The latest model still retains the simple feature of beaming content from a phone or computer to a TV, but with some minor upgrades (like 60 frames per second streaming). 

If you don’t need a ton of outlets and want a power strip that’s also travel-friendly, consider something like Belkin’s compact SurgePlus power strip. You’ll get two USB ports along with the three AC outlets, though they only offer a combined 2.1 amps, so they’ll charge your devices a bit slower if you use both at the same time. The plug on the strip itself also swivels so you can make the most of a cramped space.

This probably ranks as one of the worst promotional photos for a product that I’ve ever seen. But hey, don’t let that detract from the fact that this is a cool device.
